Bruce Burkman, CFM (Consulting Forensic Meteorologist)


BRIEF SYNOPSIS:

Bruce Burkman is the founder of "StormExtremes" and principal Meteorologist with nearly 40 years of weather and climate experience. His career has been both extensive and varied covering all of the climatic regimes of the entire nation and beyond. He has served such meteorological roles as Meteorological Technician, Industrial Meteorologist, Aviation Forecaster, Marine Forecaster, Resources Meteorologist, Surface Synoptic Expert, Lead Forecaster, Hurricane Forecaster and Forensic Meteorologist. He has held such leadership roles as Meteorologist-in-Charge and Warning Coordination Meteorologist and is the founder and owner of StormExtremes providing Weather Theme Seminars.
 
A large segment of Bruce's career has been taking complex weather scenarios and tailoring these scenarios into training products for use in Emergency Management, Insurance Companies, Media (TV and Radio), Private Enterprise, Schools and Universities. Bruce also helped develop the Flash Flood Training Program for use in the National Weather Service, FEMA, and the American Red Cross. Since 1967, Bruce has conducted countless Storm Surveys and Storm Analysis for the National Weather Service, Emergency Management, Insurance Industry and Private Enterprise.


Bruce's love for the weather, climate and severe storms has led him to conduct over twelve-hundred seminars throughout the south central and southwestern states to Federal, State, and Local Governments, Colleges-Universities-Public & Private Schools. Homeland Security, and Fire Stations to name a few, on Severe Weather, Climate and Weather Preparedness Issues. Bruce is a dynamic public speaker adept at conveying the joy and love he feels for the weather. His burning enthusiasm and his willingness to share information with others makes him an inspirational speaker. Over twelve thousand enthusiasts have attended his programs while he trained and supervised over 2500 volunteer employees on severe weather identification from 1992-2004.

Bruce is also the Jeff Davis County, Texas Coordinator for CoCoRaHS (Community Cooperative Rainfall, Hail, and Snow Network)
